I always knew what a risky move it was to bring a MP3 player or any electronics for that matter near water but that did not stop me from getting in the apartment complex hot tub on multiple occasions with headphones. As long as I sat with only my torso submerged on the step there never was any close calls. A buddy who lives in the same complex was not so lucky. He too went to the hot tub with his Zune MP3 player but after slipping on the way out, he fell straight back into the water and zap went the music. He told me this the next day and there was still regret in his voice. The worst part about it was some of the music on his Zune MP3 player wasn’t saved anywhere else. He didn’t have it all backed up on a external hard drive. I made sure to do this redundantly.
The only council I could give him was the URL to an electronics retailer who has fantastic deals on MP3 players. He checked it out on my laptop. He decided to go with an affordable RCA Lycra MP3 player because of the price.
